That’s the name of a new video-on-demand network which will exclusively offer action programming to cable subscribers. Impact will offer more than a thousand titles from the MGM library, including “Rocky” and the “James Bond” series.

The action-focused VOD channel is being rolled out this week to Comcast customers via the Comcast On Demand platform.

“We’re excited to announce this partnership to launch an action-focused channel as movies are a very popular feature on VOD. MGM’s vast library will give action fans access to their favorite movies at anytime through On Demand, with many available in HD, further complementing our growing HD offering,” said Matt Strauss, Senior Vice President, New Media, Comcast Cable.

“The Comcast On Demand platform is the perfect environment for targeted marketable brands and programming. With more than 1,000 titles in the MGM library that fit our new brand, I’m confident action fans will find Impact a one-stop destination for all of their action entertainment needs,” said Jim Packer, Co-President of MGM Worldwide Television. “

Within the first year, the partners said Impact will premiere many of the most successful films in action history, including movies from the James Bond series, Rocky, Magnificent Seven and RoboCop. Impact will also kick-off its programming with some of its most popular action stars from the MGM library such as Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone and Charles Bronson. As an ongoing part of this VOD channel, there will be special programming themes created around the popular action genres including thrillers, crime, espionage, westerns, war films and martial arts.
