In an agreement designed to expand sponsorship opportunities and value for national advertisers who want to reach Philadelphia sports fans, Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm, announced the appointment of ABC Regional Sports & Entertainment Sales (ABC RS&ES) as its exclusive national sales rep, effective immediately.

ABC RS&ES is now working with national advertisers to tap the promotional power of CSN Philly, the regional TV network for the Philadelphia Flyers hockey and Philadelphia 76ers basketball teams. In additional, ABC RS&S is also packaging sales opportunities that extend to the Flyers and 76ers websites, the Wachovia Center and other team-related ad platforms. Comcast-Spectacor continues to handle local advertising.

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia is the primary broadcast partner for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League; the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association; the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball; and the producer of live pre-game and post-game shows for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

“In a great sports town and top TV market like Philadelphia known for its fervent Flyers and Sixers fans, CSN Philly offers tremendous value for national advertisers seeking to build brand awareness” said Gerald Griffin, SVP/ABC Regional Sports & Entertainment Sales. “Together with Comcast-Spectacor, we look forward to creating even more integrated opportunities for national advertisers looking to market across multiple platforms.”

In addition to the Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies broadcasts, CSN Philly produces a variety of local sports programming, including Daily News Live, SportsNite, SportsRise, and live pre-game and post-game shows for all four major league teams in Philly.
