Comcast/TWC targeted from the right

Comcast-logoProgressive activists have been trying to upend the proposed merger between Comcast and Time Warner Cable, and Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) has also been a foe. Now a conservative PAC is on the attack.

The PAC is called Conservative War Chest. It is taking its case to the citizens of five presidential battleground states via an advertising campaign.

The states include Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

CWC is also sending a lengthy letter to NBC affiliates in hopes that they will work from within to scotch the merger.

The major beef that CWC has appears to be Comcast’s MSNBC in general and perhaps Al Sharpton in particular.

According to a Bloomberg report, CWC spokesperson Mike Flynn stated, “The last time Comcast needed a government favor we got Al Sharpton five nights a week. What will we get in exchange for a deal worth billions to Brian Roberts and other owners of Comcast?”
