Comments Sought For Proposed New Wyoming FM

It’s a town not too far from the city of Cody and some 75 miles from Billings, Mont.

Should it get a new Class C FM at 94.5 MHz? The FCC wants to know.

This new FM is integral to a Table of Allotments addition for Ralston, Wyo.

No station licensed to the municipality presently exist, and Skye Media has filed a construction permit application and paid the necessary filing fee.

Ralston may be tiny, with just 240 residents, but it has a Post Office and is home to a variety of businesses.

Plus, Ralston is not a part of any urbanized area.

Skye contends it will participate in any future Commission auction to secure a Construction Permit for a new FM facility in Ralston, and will apply for and construct the new FM
broadcast station at Ralston in accordance the Commission’s rules and procedures.

Nazifa Sawez, Assistant Chief of the Audio Division in the FCC’s Media Bureau, believes the petition warrants consideration.

With Dawn Sciarrino of Sciarrino & Shubert hired as Skye’s legal counsel in the proceeding, a comment period has been established allowing input on the matter.
