FCC commissioners Mignon Clyburn and Ajit Pai were present at the Fox affiliates board meeting at NAB 4/7, headed by Chairman Jeff Rosser, who’s also a group VP at Raycom. Given the recent FCC vote pulling JSAs and collective retransmission bargaining, the group asked the Commissioners (which were invited to the meeting) what broadcasters need to do to show the value that free, over-the-air broadcasting brings to the local markets the affiliates serve. Rosser reportedly said Pai was a friend to broadcast, but that relationship with Clyburn is a “work in progress.”
