Compass signs The Dallas Cowboys for new network

The Dallas Cowboys announced a five-year partnership with Compass Media Networks to form the “America’s Team on Compass Media Networks” Football Network. The partnership will enable nationwide Cowboys fans outside of the 65 local-regional markets in which The Dallas Cowboys’ Radio Network currently operates to hear coverage of all Cowboys games nationwide on terrestrial radio. Compass gets all 16 season games, including primetime. The deal does not include the playoffs.

As many know, The Cowboys are designated as “America’s Team,” as much as regional, so the national network makes a lot of sense. In fact, prior to the playoffs this season, the largest TV ratings of any game was the Cowboys-Saints game.

“Our goal is to deliver Cowboys’ fans complete access to all our games,” said Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner and GM. “We are thrilled with our partnership with Compass Media Networks and look forward to a bright future together.”
Kosann tells RBR-TVBR: “This is an exciting event for Compass Media Networks, solidifying our status in sports radio.”

Dial Global, Compass Media Networks’ national sales rep, has recruited Greg Leader, former VP/Affiliate Relations at Sports USA and previously at Westwood One. He’ll be working in collaboration with Compass affiliating radio stations for the 60 NFL games that Compass is airing in 2011, along with NCAA Football and Basketball. Leader’s title is VP of Sports/Affiliate Relations, Dial Global.
