Truth Radio Network host Steve Deace hasn’t said exactly what Herman Cain said to female members of his staff that was inappropriate, but he is saying it happened, adding one more arrow to the collection Cain has been hit with following tales of his behavior in the 90s at the National Restaurant Association.
According to a Politico report, the Deace incident may have gone unmentioned, but Cain’s campaign manager Mark Block referred to it and eventually Deace was tracked down as the radio host Block referenced.
Asked what Block was talking about, Deace emailed, “Like awkward/inappropriate things he’s said to two females on my staff, that the fact the guy’s wife is never around…that’s almost always a warning flag to me.”
In a post on his website, Deace wrote, “No one affiliated with our radio program has anything else to say about Herman Cain’s awkward and inappropriate comments made to our staff referenced in a recent Politico story beyond what we have already said. Sadly, those comments are no more inappropriate and awkward than Mr. Cain’s multiple positions on the sanctity of human life, his support of the TARP, his not knowing China already has nuclear weapons, and his refusal to defend marriage.”
He implied that the Cain campaign was the “sort of personality” driven effort that resulted in the election of Barack Obama.
Deace was on staff at WHO-AM Des Moines until early 2011, and is not back their via his syndicated program. On his website he lists one other affiliate in Iowa, three on South Carolina, four in North Carolina, six in Virginia, two in Georgia, two in Florida and one in Utah.
