Consumer confidence remains weak

It’s been worse – but not by much. A recent Rasmussen thermometer reading puts consumer confidence well below par, but still a bit better than it was back in December. Rasmussen’s daily tracking number for 1/22/09 was 63.7, a few notches above the December 2008 average of 59.6. For comparison, it stood at 89.5 for January 2008; the last time it was positive was October 2007, when it was 105.2; and in January 2007 it was 118.8.
