Copps tells Congress FCC needs a raise

Acting FCC Chairman Michael Copps thanked the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government for the $318M the agency received as a budget in fiscal 2009, and asked for $21M more and change — $335,794,000 for those of you keeping score at home, for fiscal 2010. $6M is to cover salary increases and inflation; with the rest going to infrastructure upgrades, particularly to the Commission’s phone system. Broadcaster: nothing much to see here.
