Corning AM gets a big sister

SoldWilliam Christian owns Fox WYDC-TV in the Elmira-Corning DMA. He has just filed with the FCC to bring an AM station into the fold, and has already spent cash to help make it happen.

The station is WCBA-AM, a Sports outlet licensed to Corning. The Class D 1350 kHz facility has 1 kW-D, allowing it to throw a primary contour over both market-name towns during the day. However, its 37 Watts at night only allow coverage of the western, Corning side of the market.
The seller is David Bruno’s PRG LLC.

The buyer is William Christian, who owns the television station under the licensee name WYDC Inc. He is licensing WCBA to Great Radio LLC.

The price is a modest $6K. It will be paid in cash, less the $950 Christian has advanced to the seller to renew its license. There will be a further credit in the amount of one half of the transaction application fee.
