Cowboy Channel Lassoes Up DirecTV Deal

DirecTV subscribers who have been seeking rodeo coverage and episodes of such classic programs as The Lone Ranger and The Roy Rogers Show have just landed the one cable TV channel catering to them.


The Cowboy Channel, the Rural Media Group network dedicated to western sports and the western lifestyle, has secured a homestead on Channel 603, debuting in the slot on Wednesday (12/27).

The addition of DirecTV for the sibling of RFD-TV is a big one. With the DBS provider, The Cowboy Channel is now available to both DirecTV and DISH subscribers. Additionally, the network has a home on AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FIOS, and on such cable proviers as Charter Spectrum, Cox, Comcast, and Mediacom.

The Cowboy Channel can also be streamed via Sling TV’s Heartland Extra package.

Headquartered in the Fort Worth Stockyards, The Cowboy Channel features content focused on rodeo, bull riding, roping, reining, barrel racing, and other western sports anchor, along with western fashion, music, and movies.

The lineup also features a wide variety of “live” coverage from major western events showcasing the world’s toughest and most talented cowboys, cowgirls, and bull riders.
