Cox Media Group (CMG) Louisville says it has resolved in 2012 to support the local community even more with its new “Friends & Neighbors” program. The $300,000 in-kind initiative will support and publicize community organizations and agencies committed to the betterment of Louisville, KY and Southern Indiana.

CMG’s Friends & Neighbors pledges in-kind support in monthly increments to nominated organizations in the form of radio commercials, online presence, and employee volunteering.

“CMG Louisville is an integral part of this community’s fabric, and we are committed to this city and the people who make it great. We are proud to work for a company that allows us the freedom and flexibility to re-invest in our local community,” said CMG Louisville VP and General Manager Todd Schumacher.

Friends & Neighbors is currently taking nominations for organizations to receive the inaugural monthly gift. Nominations can be made at www.friendsandneighborsonline.com.

While CMG has TV and newspaper operations in other markets, Louisville is strictly radio and related websites. CMG Louisville operates “Country Legends 103.9 FM” WRKA-FM, “Lite 106.9 FM” WVEZ-FM, Classic Hits WSFR-FM and “New Country 103.1 FM” WQNU-FM.
