Norwegian Cruise Line’s new campaign suggests that if you “Cruise Like a Norwegian” it means you’re also dining like a Parisian, surfing like a Hawaiian, partying like a Brazilian, etc, etc. The ads, which debut 10/10, include one 30-second and two 15-second spots running primetime on ABC and CBS, as well as on seven national cable nets including Travel Channel, HGTV, MSNBC and Discovery Channel.

The effort is the line’s first on television since 2008 and will include social media and digital as well. Onboard, ship passengers will find a “Cruise Like a Norwegian” themed sail-away party and drink menu; all-new “White Hot Party” event; “Cruise Like a Norwegian” photo and video opportunities; and a revised farewell show.

Leading up to the ads, Norwegian’s Facebook page has featured a six-day countdown requesting fans to post their favorite photos to illustrate how Norwegians dine, shop and party. Beginning 10/10, fans can make their own “Cruise Like a Norwegian” personalized video using their photos and setting it to one of three music remixes of the ad song.

In addition, a quiz asks “How Norwegian Are You?” The results show how closely respondents align with a “Norwegian” lifestyle and then groups like-minded “Norwegians” together by personalities. Fans who take the quiz are rewarded with a badge posted to their Facebook page.
