Did we mention it will be without pay? Due to the tough economy, Cumulus Media has ordered all employees to take five furlough days during the remaining two months of Q2. Similar furlough plans to cut costs have already been instituted by many other companies, including newspaper/TV groups Gannett and Media General, but this appears to be the first for a large commercial radio group (NPR has already made the move in the noncomm realm). It may not be the last.
