“Dateline” #1 in 10 p.m. hour

NBCFriday Primetime Results: From 9-11 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) grew 20 percent week to week in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.0) and 14 percent in total viewers (4.586 million vs. 4.035


million) to match the show’s highest Friday 18-49 rating since June 1.

In its two-hour time period, “Dateline” ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and 25-54.  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 56 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.4 rating from a 0.9), by 58 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.2) and by 76 percent or 2.6 million persons in total viewers (6.0 million vs. 3.4 million).

*           For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” ranked #1

among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 (with a 1.4 rating vs. a 1.3 for ABC’s second-place “20/20”), adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. a 1.7 for “20/20”) and total viewers (5.6 million vs. 5.0 million for CBS’s second-place “Blue Bloods” encore).

*           In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Dateline NBC” delivered a

19 percent margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 1.9 rating vs. a 1.6 for ABC’s second-place “20/20”).  “Dateline” also led at 10:30 in men 25-54, women 25-54, adults 18-49 and total viewers.

*           At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “Whitney” averaged a 0.7/3

in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall, pending updates.  At 8:30, a rebroadcast of “Community” is currently reporting a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and

1.8 million viewers overall.  Pending updates, “Whitney” is up week to week by 0.2 of a rating point in 18-49 and “Community is currently up

0.1 of a point.

In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

*           In Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, household results were: “The

Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 2.7/7; CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” 1.8/4; and ABC’s combo of “Nightline,” 3.1/7; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 1.4/4 with an encore.

*           In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results

were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.8/3; “Late Show,” 0.4/2; “Nightline,” 1.0/4; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.5/3 with an encore.

*           At 12:35 a.m., “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (1.5/5 in

metered-market households) beat CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (1.0/3 with an encore).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, “Late Night” (0.6/3 in 18-49) topped “Late Late Show” (0.3/2 with an encore).

*           At 1:35 a.m., “Last Call with Carson Daly” averaged a 0.8/3 in

metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
