'Dateline NBC' tied for No.1 in Friday time period

At 8 p.m. ET, “Friends With Benefits” delivered a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.4 million viewers overall.  At 8:30, a second episode of “Friends With Benefits” averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall.


From 9-11 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in the time period on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in adults 25-54 and other key categories. 

From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 40 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.0) and 49 percent or 1.7 million persons in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 3.5 million). 

In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Dateline NBC” delivered a 13 percent margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 1.8 rating vs. a 1.6 for ABC’s second-place “20/20”), up from a tie the prior half-hour (1.7 each from 10-10:30 p.m. ET).
