David Letterman's show pranked on Lindsay Lohan appearance

CBS had announced that “The Late Show with David Letterman” would feature actress Lindsay Lohan on Thursday’s (2/17) show delivering the show’s popular “Top Ten” list. Now that announcement has been retracted.

“Lindsay Lohan will not be delivering a Top Ten list on Thursday’s Late Show with David Letterman, as had been previously announced.  We made a mistake.  Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay’s reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear.  Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf.  We wish Lindsay well, and look forward to having her on the show in the future,” said a statement distributed by CBS on behalf of Tom Keaney, spokesperson for Letterman’s production company, Worldwide Pants Inc.

“I am NOT going to be doing David Letterman, I’m not sure how this happened, but I am sorry for the confusion…” Lohan said Wednesday on her Twitter account.

TMZ later reported that it was her father who had approached the Letterman show with the proposal.

If you’ve been away from the planet lately, Lohan is currently dealing with a felony charge in Los Angeles that alleges she stole a necklace from a jewelry store. She was already on probation from a DUI arrest and had recently completed a three-month rehab at the Betty Ford Center for drug and alcohol treatment.
