A few months back we noted speculation that then-Governor (now ex-Governor) David Paterson might be looking at radio as his next career. Well, he’s going to test out life behind the microphone on Monday (3/28) evening.
The former chief executive of the Empire State will follow the “Schmoozer” Steve Somers and guest host on the Sports Talk station 10:00 pm to 1:00 am.
Paterson, blind since childhood, has long been a devoted radio listener and a frequent caller to radio talk shows – sometimes identifying himself as the governor and other times as just an ordinary guy named David. He was a guest co-host with Mike Francesa on WFAN just before leaving office in January. It appears this will be his first solo appearance as a radio host.
RBR-TVBR observation: If you’ve never heard David Paterson on radio, he is a completely different person than the stiff, uncomfortable guy you’ve seen on TV. A radio career would be a natural if he wants to do it.
