DC and amusement parks spots examined; Symposium data released

This week, MediaMonitors examined Amusement parks, Theme Parks, Water Parks and Washington, DC, the 8th largest Arbitron radio market.


The #1 spot in DC last week was MATTRESS DISCOUNTERS with 650 spots. #2 was GEICO with 641 spots. Coming in #3 was HOME DEPOT with 634 commercials, while VERIZON was #4 running 594 announcements. #5 was the HD DIGITAL RADIO ALLIANCE with 554 spots and #6 was the UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND with 502 spots. TOYOTA was #7 with 492 spots and THE WASHINGTON POST was #8 airing 394 spots. CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL was ninth with 385 spots and BANK OF AMERICA was 10th running 371 spots.

The grand daddy of all Amusement Parks, SIX FLAGS was #1 raising 5270 spots on the radio last week. #2 was SEAWORLD ADVENTURE PARKS splashing 967 spots, while BUSCH GARDENS was #3 pouring 855 commercials. HOLIDAY WORLD & SPLASHIN' SAFARI hunted down the #4 slot with 715 spots. UNIVERSAL STUDIO shot into #5 with 640 spots, while CEDAR POINT was in the right direction moving from 12th to 6th with 624 units.

SCHLITTERBAHN WATERPARKS was in das #7 hole with 610 spots, while RAGING WATERS surfaced with 609 spots giving them the #8 position. DISNEY PARKS AND RESORTS moused in at #9 running 600 spots, while #10 was KENNYWOOD PARK thunderbolting their way into the top ten with 536 commercials.

On the NATIONAL SPOT TEN last week, HOME DEPOT was #1 running 35,920 units, HD DIGITAL RADIO ALLIANCE was next with 28,385 and GEICO came in third with 21,149.
