WASHINGTON, D.C. — A letter is circulating across the U.S. Senate courtesy of two colleagues, one Democrat and the other Republican, urging lawmakers in the Upper Body of Congress to add their names to the list of co-sponsors in support of the NAB-backed “Local Radio Freedom Act.”

The non-binding resolution signals Members of Congress’s opposition to any potential legislation that imposes new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay. Currently, 27 Senators are co-sponsoring the LRFA.
