MIAMI — Privately held Univision Communications has yet to launch an Initial Public Offering. Even so, Univision publicly distributes its quarterly earnings results, and on Thursday the company saw its total core revenue grow by 3.9%, to $725.5 million from $698.5 million.
But, Univision achieved this through that all-important “non-advertising revenue” — a.k.a. Univision’s digital properties including Fusion and Gawker Media. Advertising revenue slipped by 1%, to $471.4 million, and by double-digits when looking exclusively at Univision Radio.
