Denver and alcohol spots reviewed


According to Arbitron, Denver-Boulder, CO is the 19th largest radio market with a population of 2,391,700. According to Media Monitors, the #1 radio advertiser in that market last week was GEICO with 1,018 spots. THE HOME DEPOT was #2 with 872 ads, while XFINITY TV came in #3 with 801 commercials. CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE was #4 with 588 spots and OVATION CELL THERAPY was #5 with 557 announcements. MCDONALD’S was #6 running 485 spots, while SHANE COMPANY was #7 with 452 ads. NETFLIX fell from #4 to #8 with 443 spots and NISSAN shows at #9 with 422 spots. Coming in #10 last week was KING SOOPERS (Kroger) with 422 spots.

With St. Patrick’s Day in last week, one would expect a spike in sales of beverages. #1 advertised alcoholic beverage on the radio last week was TWISTED TEA with 5,989 spots nationally. Coming in #2 was MILLER LITE running 2,431 spots, while BUD LIGHT grabbed #3 with 2,156 ads. SAM ADAMS BOSTON LAGER was #4 with 1,626 spots and SAM ADAMS NOBLE PILSNER was #5 airing 1,441 announcements. SAM ADAMS also was #6 with 840 spots, while BUDWEISER claimed #7 with 796 spots. BUCHANAN’S jumped from #44 to #8 last week with 708 spots. COORS LIGHT comfortably settled on #9 with 668 spots and JEREMIAH WEED cracked #10 with 605 spots.
