For a generation of radio industry professionals, Chuck Deskins is well-known for his many years in the Southeast.
After starting his career as an AE for the former Jacor Broadcasting in Cincinnati, he relocated to Tampa-St. Petersburg in 1992, staying with the stations through their acquisition by iHeartMedia predecessor Clear Channel Communications.
In 2006, Deskins relocated to Atlanta, where he took on the role of Market President and GM for iHeartMedia. He later worked for iHeart in Miami, and returned to Tampa, before exiting in 2014.
Deskins is now back, and for a bigger national role. Effective Oct. 1, he is now SVP/Inside Sales for iHeartMedia.
It’s a role that sees Deskins reporting to EVP/Inside Sales James Donovan.
He’ll be based in Pinellas County, Fla.
It’s familiar terrain for Deskins, who was last with iHeartMedia as its Tampa VP/Sales from 2009-2014. From 2008-2009, he was DOS for iHeart/Miami-Fort Lauderdale.
In his new role, Deskins will manage iHeartMedia’s team of Inside Sellers and Managers and create advertising opportunities for brands and iHeartMedia partners across the company’s vast array of platforms including radio broadcasting, digital, mobile, outdoor, live concerts and events and more. He will also be charged with driving sales strategies; maintain incentive programs and progression models; provide strategic coaching; and help create sales training programs to ensure the Inside Sales team continues to grow and exceed team sales and revenue targets.

What has Deskins been up to since exiting iHeart in 2014? He was most recently a partner at C3 Media, an advertising agency. He is also the owner/publisher of Coastal Angler Magazine and a partner at advertising agency Advantage Marketing.
