“America’s Funniest Home Videos” (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
At 7:00 p.m., ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos” drew its 2nd-largest audience of the season (7.8 million), while matching a season-best in Adults 18-49 (1.9/5).

“Desperate Housewives” (9:00-10:00p.m.)
Airing in originals for the first time in three weeks, ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” stood as the top non-sports program in the hour in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 in its 7th consecutive original telecast.  In head-to-head competition, “Housewives” topped CBS’ “Undercover Boss” by 8% in Total Viewers (11.2 million vs. 10.4 million) and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (3.5/8 vs. 2.7/6).

“Housewives” finished as Sunday’s most-watched entertainment TV show overall for its 6th straight original telecast.

“Brothers & Sisters” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” beat CBS’ “CSI: Miami” among Adults 18-34 (1.7/5 vs. 1.6/5), Women 18-34 (2.2/6 vs. 1.7/5) and Women 18-49 (3.2/8 vs. 2.9/7).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 38% currently, from 34% at the same point in 2009. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
