Dickies signs with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners


After 87 years, Fort Worth’s Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing has hired an AOR to create campaigns and arrange them for placement. Goodby, Silverstein & Partners San Francisco was selected in a 10-month review process conducted by consultant Jones Lundin Beals, which heard pitches from 50 agencies.

Goodby, a unit of the Omnicom Group, would not disclose its winning approach or slogan. However, a spokesperson of the company, Christine O’Donnell, told The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram : “We wear Dickies. They’re cool and hip.”

Dickies, which is privately held, has used its in-house ad department, which will now focus on retail marketing issues, the story said.
