‘Disciplined’ Scripps Sees Mixed Results In Q1

“Once again in the first quarter, Scripps delivered a terrific financial performance,” Adam Symson, the President/CEO of The E.W. Scripps Co., said as he opened the broadcast media company’s Q1 2022 earnings call. “Outstanding results in local media,” coming as a result of Scripps’ commitment to new business development, and better-than-expected retransmission revenue, were key drivers in the quarter.


Yet, while Scripps beat the Street on its Q1 revenue, it fell slightly short of the consensus estimate on its earnings per share.
