The channel will also feature Holly Valance in Ultimate Shopper, Dawn O’Porter in Undercover Mums and Lisa Snowdon in Your Style In His Hands and Winfrey.

It is full of stories that will get people talking and we hope it will become part of the rich and varied TV culture in the UK. It is unlike any other channel in the U.K. and will provide advertisers with an exciting new opportunity to target female audiences. The launch of TLC is another compelling reason for people to come to pay TV.”
TLC is in over 100 million global households. Carriage in the UK and Ireland will reportedly add 13,420,000 more.
Discovery Communications is also buying 12 TV networks in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland in a deal worth about $1.7 billion. Discovery said the deal with German TV company ProSiebenSat.1 Group for its SBS Nordic operations expands its presence in the Nordic markets.
It also boosts its brand portfolio by adding general entertainment, scripted and sports programming to its lineup of services for the first time. The acquisition also includes SBS Nordic’s 19 radio stations and other assets.
