Dish NetworkDISH Network reported Q1 revenue totaling $3.59 billion for the quarter, compared to $3.38 billion for Q1 2013—up 6%. Net income attributable to DISH totaled $176 million for the quarter, compared to $216 million from Q1 2103.


DISH activated 639,000 gross new pay-TV subscribers compared to 654,000 gross new pay-TV subscribers in the prior year’s first quarter. Net subscribers grew by 40,000 in Q1. The company closed quarter with 14.097 million pay-TV subscribers compared to 14.092 million pay-TV subscribers at the end of first quarter 2013.

Pay-TV ARPU for the first quarter totaled $82.36, an improvement over the first quarter 2013 pay-TV ARPU of $78.44. Pay-TV subscriber churn rate was 1.42 percent versus 1.47 percent for first quarter 2013.

DISH added 53,000 net broadband subscribers in the quarter, bringing its broadband subscriber base to approximately 489,000.
