Rubber City has a triple play radio cluster in Akron OH, and now it has officially in its possession a fourth station that reaches the market but is actually home to the neighboring and larger Cleveland market. The station is WNWV-FM, licensed to Elyria OH.

In addition to the just-completed acquisition of WNWV, Thomas A. Mandel’s Rubber City Radio Group consists of WAKR-AM, WONE-FM and WQMX-FM.

The seller of the station is Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting Company, headed by Paul B. Martin.

The price: $6.5M cash. The deal was filed with the FCC 10/17/11.

According to Dick Foreman, who handled brokerage chores, WNWV is a Full Class B station, operates in the AAA format on 107.3 MHz with 20 kW @ 781’.
