An FM-to-be licensed to Steamboat Springs CO is now in the hands of a new owner, who in addition to buying the station, had to buy the right to buy it.

The acquiring entity is Radio Partners LLC, headed by Don J. Tlapek. He picked up the right to purchase the CP from Jean Cotes, and act which didn’t set him back too much – just one of those green heavy-stock rectangular pieces of paper with an engraving of Alexander Hamilton on it – or $10.00.

The seller is Kenneth L. Ramsey’s Ramsey Leasing Inc. According to Media Services Group broker Bill Whitley, the price for the station is $125K. The contract for the acquisition stipulated a $10K escrow deposit, payment of an additional $90K at closing and a promissory note for the remaining $25K.

The station will mark the second FM CP for Tlapek, going along with one he holds in Olathe CO.
The Steamboat Springs facility is licensed to be a Class A on 98.9 MHz with 1.85 kW @ 600’.
