Done radio deal in Waco

KRZI-AM Waco, KLRK-FM Marlin and KRQX AM & FM Mexia are now officially in the portfolio of Gary Moss and his M&M Broadcasters. The seller, Simmons Media Group, received $1.98M cash for the quartet in a deal brokered by Kalil & Company for the seller and John Pierce for the buyer.

An attempt to derail the deal by Daryl O’Neal, who held that Simmons lacks “the basic qualifications to be a Commission licensee due to its alleged misrepresentation and lack of candor during the investigation of Station KSLG(AM)” out of St. Louis MO, didn’t hold water with the FCC, in no small part because St. Louis is not Waco, but also because the St. Louis case had already been brought to a conclusion by the FCC.
