Done radio deal on Long Island

Two radio operators have four stations each on Long Island, New York. Normally that wouldn’t be news, but it is this time because a very short time ago, one of them had six and the other two. Now they both have four as a direct result of $3M changing hands.

According to Kalil and Co., which handled brokerage chores, that is how much JVC Media LLC paid to Barnstable Corporation subsidiary IW LLC to acquire WRCN-FM Riverhead NY and WKJI-FM Center Moriches NY.

The stations, part of the Nassau-Suffolk Arbitron market, will join WBON-FM Westhampton NY and WPTY-FM Calverton-Roanoke NY in a four-FM cluster.

JVC is headed by Peter G. Schiff, Victor Canales, John Caracciolo, Paul Homer and Henry T. Wilson.
Barnstable will remain active in the Central portion of Long Island, according to Kalil, with WBZO-FM, WHLI-AM, WKJY-FM & WMJC-FM. Barnstable principals include Albert J. Kaneb, Michael R. Paglia and David P. Widner.
Richard L. Sharpe represented the buyer in the transaction.
