DOT Drives Ahead With New Radio Effort

The U.S. Department of Transportation is driving a new campaign through radio.

Its current effort resulted in 37,350 commercials played on AM and FM stations tracked by Media Monitors for the week ending Aug. 20, resulting in a rise from No. 29 to No. 3.

Last week’s Media Monitors Radio Spot Ten report also finds GEICO in second place with 40,197 ads, and The Home Depot rising to No. 4, clearing 36,393 spots.

JCPenney dropped to No. 5 with 28,970 ads, and McDonald’s dropped to No. 6 with 25,212 commercials.
