DougCCME Providence announced that Doug Palmieri has been named Program Director for 94 HJY, effective immediately. Palmieri will oversee all aspects of programming for 94 HJY, Providence’s Home for Rock and Roll.   He will transition into this position from his previous role as Director of Imaging.  From 1999-2005 Palmieri served as the evening On-Air Host, Assistant Program Director and Imaging Director at HJY. Then, until 2007 he served as the station’s Creative Services Director.  After a stint in Boston he returned to HJY in March 2013 as Director of Production/Imaging until July of 2014 when we made him PD of HJY.

“My first on-air gig was at 94 HJY and I’m excited to have the opportunity to program a station with such an amazing history and heritage,” said Palmieri.  “There isn’t a better staff in radio and I look forward to moving forward with the station where I got my start. A big thanks Rob Anthony, Rhonda Lapham, Sean Davey and Jon Zellner for the opportunity.”

“It’s been a long time coming and I couldn’t be happier giving Doug these well deserved stripes – his knowledge of the format and history of HJY will definitely speak for itself,” said Rob Anthony, Regional Programming Manager for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment.
