Dow closes for the first time above 15,000

Stocks rose Tuesday, with the Dow industrials finishing above 15,000 for the first time, after Australia cut its refinancing rate and DirecTV and watch maker Fossil reported improved earnings. After rising to an all-time intraday high of 15,056.67, the Dow added 87.31 points to 15,056.20. The big number didn’t translate to broadcast stocks, however.


The RBR Radio Index was up 1.611, or .3%, to 543.524.

The TVBR Television Index was down 5.634, or .9%, to 591.979.
