A strong performance in the fiscal year 2009-2010 helped fuel an increase in annual Australian revenues of 2.25% to $647.3M. A 6.9% increase during the month of June put the whipped cream on the earnings of a year that got started off on the wrong foot.

According to Commercial Radio Joan Warner, the turnaround began in earnest during the month of November 2009. The nation’s largest market, Sydney, was on par with the national gain, rising 2.21%, while market #2 Melbourne had a somewhat better 3.3% increase.

According to The Australian, Warner remarked, “This is good news for the industry and reflects a strong turnaround from a slow start in the first few months of the financial year, highlighting the resilience of the radio industry.”
