DTV in the appointment book

FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and Commissioner Michael Copps were at a town hall meeting in Wilmington NC to help clue in interested citizens who are concerned about the transition to digital television. Most will be accomplishing that feat 2/17/09, but for those in Wilmington, the operative date is 9/8/08, given its new DTV transition guinea pig status. That’ll be a mere 100 days off as of 5/31/08. Then today, Martin will be back in Washington to discuss the matter with seniors along with non-voting congressional Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC). The NAB is also getting into the act. It plans to announce an agreement with the National Black Church Initiative, which will use the church group’s national platform to  get the word out to its constituency.
