Five news stories earned between a 4%-6% share of the news hole during the week of 3/23/09-3/29/09, according to Project for Excellence in Journalism.


So there was no pretender to story of the week able to come within remote striking distance of the ongoing saga of the ailing economy, which pulled 41% of total media journalistic attention.

When all was said and done, reporting on the Mexican drug wars managed to claim second place for itself on the overall chart with a 6% share.
