Election is dominant topic of 2008

That should come as a surprise to nobody. Neither should the hyper-journalistic election focus at cable and radio come as a surprise to anybody who was paying attention.


Paying attention more than most was the Project for Excellence in Journalism, which just released its newshole totals for the year gone by. Overall, the election commanded 36% of journalist attention, followed by the economy with 15%.

The Iraq war, with 4%, was the only other story to top 1% of total attention.
