Elmira-Corning radio sixpack sold

WS2K Radio Group is sending three AM stations and three FMs to Sound Communications LLC. The buyer is related to Vision Communications, which operates television stations in Elmira-Corning and Rochester NY.
The stations include WENY-FM and WENI-FM, WENY-AM and WENI-AM, WGMM-FM and WCBA-AM.


“We are very proud of the accomplishments of our staff here in Corning-Elmira,” said Ira Rosenblatt, President and CEO of WS2K. “These stations have had tremendous growth in quality, recognition and stature in the market under our local management here.”

Paige Christian, VP of the buyer, added, “There is a strong track record in the community for these stations, and our intention is to help make it even stronger.”

Brokerage firms Frank Boyle and Company and Kozacko Media Services worked on the transaction.

The Vision television stations include full power Fox WYDC-TV and low power outlet MNT WJKP-LD in the Elmira-Corning Elmira market and MNT WBGT-CA, a Class A outlet in Rochester.

Terms were not released.
