Alamogordo NM is the site of the world’s first nuclear explosion, and it is also the site of the latest acquisition by frequent station-buyer Educational Media Foundation. The station – KUPR-FM — is already a noncom religious operation.
Educational Media Foundation is the operator of Christian radio networks K-LOVE and Air1, and is headed by Mike Novak.
The seller of the station is Southern New Mexico Radio Foundation, headed by Robert Flotte.
The price will be $100K cash.
KUPR is a Class C2 on 91.7 MHz with 1.4 kW @ 1,680’.
Alamogordo is unrated. Local draws include its proximity to Holloman AFB and White Sands National Monument.
