EMF swaps a full power FM for a translator

In Montana, religious non-com Educational Media Foundation is getting entrée into Missoula via an FM translator that is coming in a straight-up swap with Hi-Line Radio Fellowship. The latter will get an FM serving the Bozeman MT area.

The full-power station being sent to Hi-Line is KGCM-FM Belgrade MT. It’s a Class C3 with 5.5 kW @ 623’, broadcast on 90.9 MHz. Belgrade is a town just outside Bozeman.

At the time the contract for the deal was filed with the FCC, the translator headed to EMF was known as K214AD, a 90.7 MHz facility. A check of the FCC database indicates that it has already executed a CP moving it to 93.7 MHz, and it is now known as K229BU.

According to the contract, the only cash involved in the deal was unspecified reimbursement of EMF by Hi-Line for expenses incurred executing the CP.

The deal adds a Missoula presence for EMF, and Hi-Line remains in the market as well with a full power station.

EMF is operator of the contemporary Christian K-LOVE network.
