How will 2018, and the final three months of last year, shape up for one big radio broadcasting company?
We will have all of the answers in 10 days.
On Friday, Feb. 22, the Q4 2018 and full-year ’18 results arrive from Entercom Communications. A conference call and simultaneous webcast will be held at 10am Eastern.
Questions will be taken, unlike companies including Beasley Broadcast Group and Saga Communications, which only take questions submitted via e-mail prior to the call.
How Entercom performs in Q4 will likely be highly scrutinized. As President/CEO David Field noted during his company’s Q3 earnings call, Q4 is the “turnaround quarter” as the company’s revenues were up 4% year-over-year so far into the quarter. Political spending accounts for only half of that increase.
Further, Field predicted that “solid double-digit EBITDA growth” is on the way for a company that hit some more speed bumps in Q3 on a same-station basis. Owing to the strong Q4 forecast is a new traffic ad business, and the achievement of “significant expense reductions,” Field noted. “Now, we expect solid top-line and bottom-line growth in Q4. Of course, there will be bumps along the way.”
As the Closing Bell on Tuesday, Entercom stock was at $7.07, up 6 cents from Monday’s close.
