A key executive at Entravision Communications has been appointed to the NAB Television Board of Directors.
He’s a veteran who began his career with rep firm Katz Television, and later joined the local sales team at Tribune Broadcasting’s KTLA-5 in Los Angeles.
Chosen to take a seat on the TV Board of Directors is Eddie Melendez, who serves as EVP-West Region at Entravision.
Melendez was tapped by Television Board Chairman Jordan Wertlieb, in accordance with NAB by-laws. Wertlieb has been president of Hearst Television since 2013.
At Entravision, Melendez oversees all sales and marketing efforts for 16 of Entravision’s markets, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Monterey-Salinas, Phoenix, Las Vegas and El Paso. He joined the company in 2002 as VP and Director of Sales.
Before joining Entravision, he spent a decade in various sales management positions with Galavision, Telemundo and Univision.
