Entravision Communications CorporationChildren’s Miracle Network Hospitals are the beneficiaries of Entravision’s sense of duty to its various communities in which it operates. A three-day radiothon brought in donations far in excess of a similar effort in 2013.

In all, the event raised $2.1M, blowing away the $1.5M brought in the previous year.

According to Entravision, 24 member hospitals will be beneficiaries, and added that 69 cities are involved. Helping make the increase possible was Entravision’s multi-platform presence, which includes online, mobile and syndicated radio elements.

“We are now in our seventh year of teaming with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and are thrilled to have broadcast the Radiothon,” said Jeffery Liberman, COO of Entravision. “This year’s enormously successful collaboration enabled us to benefit more hospitals and children than ever before. The overwhelming response to this year’s Radiothon is a testament to the vast reach of Entravision’s national radio platform, as well as our continuously growing on-air talent and staff, who rallied the great force of our Spanish-language listeners.”

RBR-TVBR observation: Congratulations to Entravision. Efforts like this demonstrate the power of radio and that is a great reflection on the radio business in general.
