Entravision’s Margain Gain: A Mexican Client Lure

Some may want a wall. Others may prefer a clear path to El Norte.

Count Entravision Communications among those that prefer the latter — at least when it comes to bringing Mexican brands and companies closer to U.S. Hispanic consumers.

In a move made Monday (7/16) by the media company super-serving Spanish-language audiences, Rodrigo Margain has come aboard as VP/Sales & Business Development Mexico.

Margain joins Entravision after serving as Commercial Director at Cinépolis, a growing Mexico-based chain of movie theaters with a presence in the U.S. Before that, Margain served as VP of Ad Sales/Mexico at Fox Television Group, holding the position for eight years.

Margain has also been Asst. Director of Marketing for Movistar, one of Latin America’s biggest wireless carriers.

In his new role, Margain reports to EVP/National Sales Claudia Macias. Margain will remain in Mexico City and will be charged with increasing the number of Mexico-based clients investing in Entravision-owned or affiliated media platforms serving the U.S.

“We are delighted to have Rodrigo join our team and look to grow our client base and best serve our stakeholders with a solid presence in Mexico City,” Macias said. “This is an optimal time to have Rodrigo continue to strengthen our business unit in Mexico and showcase our assets to existing and prospective partners.”

Margain commented, “With more than a decade in Mexico’s advertising and media industry, I have built a broad base of experience across the traditional and digital media market. In my new position, I’m excited to join Entravision’s highly talented team and represent its extensive media assets and unique abilities to connect businesses and consumers.”
