Transactions: 2/27/06-3/3/06
Volume was up, and value was up - - how could it not be, with two whole deals worth under 2M dollars? 41 stations changed hands - - well, sorta. 11 of them went cash free from Citadel to a trust in case they need to be spun in anticipation of the ABC Radio acquisition. For all the action, though, the average price per stick was under 1M.

TV Deal of the Week
Big Easy DTV CP moves out of bankruptcy
WHMM avoided any major Katrina damage by not being built yet. Now it's being sold by troubled owner Pegasus Satellite Communications to Ernesto Schweiker's Mayavision Inc. for 950K. The Channel 42 CP is licensed to Hammond, which is actually just about equidistant from New Orleans and Baton Rouge. However, Scheiker owns KGLA-AM in the Big Easy.
Radio Deal of the Week
Results Radio sells in Santa Rosa twice
Maverick Media enhanced a Santa Rosa CA superduopoly with one Results FM for 7.692M, and Lazer Broadcasting entered the market with two other Results FMs for 6.85M. The Lazer transaction would have been tops for the week if not for the Maverick transaction, while Results Radio made sure it would get a mention.
