NYSBA providing RAB sales training sessions
The RAB and New York State Broadcasters Association continue to partner on programs that deliver RAB sales training free of charge to NYSBA members. The most recent arrangement provides beginner and advanced sales training sessions in five cities throughout NY State to a total of 300 sellers. Funded by the NYSBA, the two and a half day training sessions are slated to take place in Buffalo on 9/9, Rochester on 9/14, Albany on 9/16, Long Island on 9/19; and Syracuse on 9/26.
Sirius now has wearable radio, too
Sirius Satellite Radio announced the debut of its first wearable satellite radio, the Sirius S50, which allows users to capture and store up to 50 hours of content, or a mix of programming and MP3/WMA files, enabling listening on the go. The unit is scheduled to be available at retail this October. The S50 measures includes a full color display and voice-assisted channel navigation. When attached to a home dock, car dock or docking station with speakers, the unit provides access to live content, and captures and stores both scheduled and unscheduled programming.
RBR observation:
We wonder why the unit doesn't capture live signals on its own, like the wearable XM2Go unit. Maybe because it would be fraught with signal dropouts like the XM unit (from what we hear, anyway)? Tip for creative for the NAB's future pro-radio campaigns: What's the most-played song on Sirius and XM? "Acquiring Signal."
