Piccadilly Restaurants chooses Heil-Brice as AOR
Piccadilly Restaurants announced that it has chosen Heil-Brice Retail Advertising as its AOR. HBRA will manage Piccadilly's strategic, creative advertising development, media buys and promotions for the company's 132 restaurants.
"We are eager to work with Piccadilly and are confident our capabilities will further enrich their well-established reputation," said Hal Brice, president and executive creative director, HBRA. "We are in a strong position to offer our brand-building expertise as we produce compelling and effective advertising campaigns."
The first campaigns include television, radio, direct mail and in-store and are already running in select markets. HBRA is also providing strategic public relations and customer research services to Piccadilly. As the campaigns emerge, more details will be announced.
Quizno's dumps The Martin Agency
Quizno's has parted ways with its AOR, the Martin Agency, which created the "Spongemonkeys" effort. The client spent 40 million on ads in 2003 and 35 million through August, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
New Peabody board members
The University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication announced the appointment of four new board members to the Peabody Awards for the best in television and radio. The Peabody board, which includes television critics, industry practitioners, scholars and experts in culture and fine arts, will be joined by Susan Douglas, University of Michigan; Jonathan Estrin, American Film Institute; Raul Garza, Hill & Knowlton, Inc. public relations firm and Frazier Moore, Associated Press.
Geoff Metcalf exits Liberty goes to TalkStar and Sirius
Liberty Broadcasting's The Geoff Metcalf Show has moved to his TalkStar Radio Network and will be heard concurrently on Sirius 6:00 - 9:00 am Eastern. The show will be streamed at www.talkstarradio.com. Metcalf's broadcast background includes KSFO, KGO and Fox News.
Geoff is a seasoned talk show host, former U.S. Army Green Beret, author, martial arts professional, and columnist. His program has been described as "news and analysis beyond mainstream...or more to the point, analysis of news the mainstream refuses to report." Geoff also makes a point to deliver "up-to-date information on what is or more importantly, what is not happening in the legislative process."
