Hatfill filed bagfull of subpoenas
An attorney for Steven Hatfill, the Army researcher labeled a "person of interest" by Attorney General John Ashcroft in the anthrax scar immediately following 9/11, is serving papers on a number of news outlets in connection with Hatfill's suit against the AG. According to Editor and Publisher, Hatfill's counsel cannot talk to DOJ staffers, but is allowed to query journalists who covered the case. E&P expects that 12-15 news organizations will be queried in all, and mentions AP, NPR, ABC News, CBS's "60 Minutes" and the Washington Post as part of the initial group being served.
